Murder Suspect In Custody After 8-Hour Standoff on Lake Shore Drive

Georgia murder suspect who held police at bay from his wrecked car on Lake Shore Drive is in police custody, Chicago Breaking News reported.

Chicago Breaking News is reporting that the man wanted in connection with the killing of his wife in Georgia has been taken into custody.
Joseph Andrew Felton, Jr., 43, was reportedly carried from the scene on a stretcher around 9:30 p.m., after an eight-hour standoff with police on Lake Shore Drive.
Felton is a "person of interest" in the murder of his wife, whose body was apparently found in the couple's home in Henry County, GA, authorities there are reporting.
Harvey Police were asked to assist Henry County sheriff's police late Sunday morning. When they went to pick Felton up at a Harvey location, he apparently escaped in his black Chrysler 300, leading police on a high speed chase from the south suburbs and eventually to Lake Shore Drive.
Felton's family members live in the Harvey area.
Police said he crashed his car in the northbound lane at Lake Shore Drive, just south of Belmont Avenue, where he reportedly holed up in his wrecked car for over eight hours.
The Lincoln Park Zoo was cleared and the bike path along the lake were shut down for the duration of the standoff on Sunday.
Around 7 p.m. police reportedly "tossed the suspect a cellphone," and began negotiating with him. Chicago Breaking News reported.
