Pride Week Events Unveiled: Fireworks Cruise, 5K Run Planned

It's the first year organizers are moving Pride Fest to a different weekend than the Pride Parade. See what events they have planned for the weeklong extravaganza, including the detailed rundown of performers at the festival.

New plans to create a “Pride Week” in Boystown are slowly becoming a reality as organizers unveil some of their plans for the extended celebration between the festival and annual parade.

The Northalsted Business Alliance, an organization that puts on both Pride Fest and Market Days, detailed what they have in mind for the first annual Pride Week in Chicago. That’s combined with a full schedule of entertainment and performers during the actual festival.

The organization announced in February they planned to move Pride Fest 2013 to June 22-23, the weekend before Chicago’s iconic Pride Parade on June 30.
