Senza Earns Michelin Star

The gluten-free restaurant earned a star in its first year of business.

Senza, an upscale gluten-free restaurant at 2873 N. Broadway, earned its first Michelin star after only one year of business, according to an article by DNA Info. The restaurant, along with executive chef Noah Sandoval, combines familiar ingredients with creative techniques. The restaurant also offers coffee and gluten-free baked goods in the morning.

"We are thrilled to report that Michelin has recognized chef Noah Sandoval's hard work and creativity with his first Michelin Star!" Senza said on its website.

Michelin Guide Chicago tweeted out a congratulations early Tuesday morning, saying, "Chef Noah Sandoval @SenzaChicago hit his stride after the early reviewers moved on. Congrats on a gluten-free Michelin Star! #onestar"

Twenty-five restaurants around the city received the stars, the most Chicago has ever received, DNA Info states. One Star means that a restaurant is a "very good restaurant in its category," two stars means "excellent cuisine, worth a detour" and three stars means "exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey".

Senza was the only restaurant in Lake View to earn a Michelin star.
