Chicagoans Getting ‘Taste of Lakeview’ in 2-Day Festival

The summer festival hits Lake View the first weekend in July, pulling more than 40,000 people to the huge Lincoln and Belmont avenues intersection.

The summer festival season is in full swing, and trailing the Independence Day comes Taste of Lakeiew.

Formerly called Rock the Block, the 2-day food and music event is slated for July 6-7 and is landing at one of Lake View’s busiest intersections: Lincoln, Belmont and Ashland avenues. Saturday’s festivities run from noon to 10 p.m., and Sunday’s from noon to 9 p.m.

More than 40,000 people come to the annual event, organizers Star Events reports, where vendors highlight some of the city’s top artisans and crafters.

“Just a week prior to the famed Taste of Chicago, local foodies can also fire up their taste buds as many top restaurants will be on-hand, serving up delicious summer treats including Jet’s Pizza, John Barleycorn, Moe’s Cantina, and Paciugo Gelato, among others,” Star Events wrote in a statement.

The entire foodie experience is combined with live music, with featured artists including Trippin Billies, 16 Candles, Too White Crew and more. For the little ones, Jahn World Language School will host a children’s section during the Taste of Lakeview.
