That's the problem with anonymity on the Internet. It gives the scumbags of the world a voice.
The Other Christine April 20, 2014 at 09:12 am
There is no anonymity when the police can go to Twitter and Comcast for something like this. UnlessRead More this kid was making threats, he should be able to say whatever he wants. He wasn't making child porn or meth, just making fun of a politician... And who hasn't, really?!

folks the sky is not falling. I have a few credit cards. Once or twice a year either I notice a badRead More charge on my account, or there's one of these hacks, and my card needs to be cancelled. No money out of my pocket, and no real hassle, as I can use a different card until I get the replacement. No way am I going to carry around $100 all the time so I can buy gas. I do think that the credit card companies are going to get tired of the cost on *their* end from this fraud, and tighten up security. But I'm not going to change my life because of it. Just keep an eye on your account (I use Quicken so I see the charges the day after I make them).
Jonathan Kaplan April 20, 2014 at 08:45 am
Card using enthusaists kind of deserve to have this happen to them. By using your cards everywhereRead More you go, do you realize you are taking a large chunk of the businesses profit and choosing to give it to banks and credit card processors rather than the business itself? You, by using your cards, also force businesses to raise prices. Stop using your cards and you won't have to worry about security breaches AND you help businesses AND you help yourself by allowing businesses to lower prices.
Don April 20, 2014 at 10:09 am
For all the years I've had debit cards, never used them. If you're somewhere where credit cards, aRead More check or cash in your pocket can't be used, you shouldn't be there. Besides, most of you forget about all those last minute withdrawals and Irresponsibility takes over, yet you're still surprised- "what happened my bank account?"- the drunken stupor in the bar, or knee jerk "i gotta have it". Most can't afford those approaches, and the service fees know that

This is not comedy central....either report news or don't. Making fun of police roundup stories isRead More juvenile. We should be glad they are out there protecting us. Grow up PATCH writers.
Jacob Matthews April 20, 2014 at 10:14 am
Patch writers hide behind a keyboard spewing venom for anyone who can read or be read to. They areRead More cowards. Their "stories" are just that. Not a word of truth in any of them. This website is funded by politicians, more often than not written by them as well hiding behind an editors tag. It's propaganda Flo....and you are correct.....it is childish as well as unprofessional.

Sounds fine by me. If rental properties are lost or a few bars that are far too many in the area soRead More be it. The 7year old condo building in the area seems to be a downer but what are you going to do. Like O'hare extending runways, and homes razed in the area, progress needs to take priority.
James F April 18, 2014 at 08:11 pm
I feel for these residents I truly do. No one wants to be kicked out of their home. But this to helpRead More more people then the maybe the hundred being displaced. CTA has been discussing this for 20+ years. I live near the Granville stop, and would hate it if I had to move. But this is a fight these people can't win. My recommendation, get out and get out NOW!!!
James F April 20, 2014 at 02:08 am

Independence666 April 20, 2014 at 10:41 am
President Obama, and all of his destructive actions, are the result of an uninformed electorateRead More voting with their "hearts" instead of their brains. These kinds of people are very easily manipulated and lulled into a false sense of security. If they ever wake up, they will be shocked and ashamed of what they have done.

The death penalty certainly cuts down on the record number of incarcerations in America. Enough ofRead More this liberal crap on humane punishment. The word "humane' never enters the minds of these cold blooded killers. What is going to happen if another bombing takes place outside of Texas? What is going to happen with the next airplane hijacking, or Boston?
