Dates Set for Next City Meetings on Wrigley Field Changes

The city will vote on an ordinance allowing for the sale of beer and wine in a property near Wrigley Field.

An ordinance that would allow for the sale of beer and wine in the triangular property immediately west of Wrigley Field will be voted on at the Committee on License and Consumer Protection meeting on Wed., according to a newsletter from the East Lake View Neighbors (ELVN). The meeting will be held on Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall.

An ordinance that seeks to amend the Municipal Code concerning the modification of the Wrigley Field game and concert schedule is also on the agenda.

The newsletter also notes that ELVN, along with the Triangle Neighbors and Hawthorn Neighbors Assocations who provided support, are disappointed in the recent passing of an ordinance that would reduce the width of Sheffield Ave. from 33 feet to 23 feet, and would allow for a branded arch to be built near Wrigley Field.

The amendments to the Wrigley Field Planned Development will be voted on by the City Council Committee on Zoning, Landmarks and Building Standards on Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. at City Hall.
