Fans Not Won Over By Cubs New Mascot

Fans shared their mixed emotions to the Cubs' first-ever mascot over social media. The words "horrid" and "embarrassing" were used.

The Chicago Cubs have unveiled their very first mascot — which has some fans in an uproar.

The mascot, named "Clark" comes after the Cubs found that fans wanted more family-friendly entertainment, according to an article by the Chicago Tribune. Clark will do work in the community — including school appearances, hospital visits and will interact with fans at games — and specifically reach out to the Cubs' youngest fans.

Clark made his very first public appearance Monday night in a visit with kids at the Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center's Pediatric Developmental Center, the Tribune states. He will also stop by the Cubs Convention this weekend at Sheraton Chicago.
