Final Lincoln Lodge Show, Cake and Whiskey Club

Final Lincoln Lodge ShowLincoln Restaurant, 4008 N. Lincoln Ave., is sadly closing tis doors on Dec. 31, leaving the Lincoln Lodge without a home. It will host its last show in the restaurant on Sat. Dec. 28. Tickets are sold out, but you may be able to score some at the door for $10. The show begins at 10:15 p.m. and is only open to those 21 and up. 

Holiday at the Art InstituteChristmas may be over, but its not too late to give yourself the gift of great art. The Art Institute of Chicago has a wide array of holiday displays and exhibits for everyone — including an 18th-century Neapolitan Nativity scene on display, a Holiday Throne Room, an exhibit on food and "Gifts to the City".  

Cake and Whiskey ClubLove cake and whiskey? Join the club — literally. The Cake and Whiskey Club's December event is Sunday from 8 p.m until 12 a.m. This month's theme is "Whiskey, Frankincake and Myrrh" and will feature music performances by Cpt. Captain and the Unswept. The whiskey of the night is Fireball, and the cake is Chocolate Cake with Chai Spice Buttercream Frosting. Tickets are $18 to $30, and a portion of the proceeds will go to charity. 

9th Annual Alex Chilton Birthday BashEach year, the Empty Bottle honors Alex Chilton, the famed singer-songwriter who had a solo career, and played with The Box Tops and Big Star. This year's performers include Certain Stars, The J & P's and Letterbomb — plus many more. Tickets are $9.
