Residents in Lake View had plenty to celebrate over the Fourth of July weekend, one of them being the annual street festival on Lincoln Avenue.

Formerly called Rock the Block, organizers with Star Events rebranded the event as Taste of Lakeview for its 20th year in the neighborhood. John Barry, CEO of Star Events, says anywhere from 12,000 to 16,000 people were estimated to be in attendance.

Drawing that many people is also good for West Lake View Neighbors, an organization focused on improving the community from Addison to Belmont and Racine and Ravenswood. Barry says although the official total has yet to be tallied, he believes they raised nearly $10,000 for WLVN.
