Is the Kuma Burger the Best in Chicago? In America?

The Daily Meal named the Kuma Burger the best in America. See where other Chicago burger rank, and tell us your favorite local burger joint.

Is the Kuma Burger from Kuma's Corner the best in Chicago?

The Daily Meal, a foodie website, says it's more than that—it's the best burger in the nation. The website released its list of the 101 best burgers in America, and the Kuma Burger leads the way.

Now, if you've been to Kuma's you know it's debatable whether the signature is even the best on the menu, let alone in the country. As The Daily Meal notes:

"There are burgers with tomatillo salsa and fried chiles, burgers with Sriracha and grilled pineapple, but if you have to choose just one, go for the signature, the Kuma Burger: bacon, sharp Cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onion and a fried egg ... It's nothing short of burger perfection."

The heavy metal themed burger bar is located at 2900 W. Belmont Ave., and it has another location in Kuma's Too at 666 W. Diversey Pkwy

According to DNA Info, the other Chicago burgers to make the list were Au Cheval's cheeseburger in the West Loop, ranked No. 29, and the griddle burger from Edzo's, which has locations in Lincoln Park and Evanston, ranked No. 53. Although Chicago took the top spot, New York had the most burgers on the list, with 15 of the top 101.
