Chicago Public Schools Close Tuesday

All Chicago Public Schools are closing Tuesday due to the cold temperatures expected.

Chicago Public Schools will remain closed on Tuesday due to the extreme cold temperatures and high winds. CPS was also closed Monday for the same reason.

"We will continue to put the safety of our students and families first," CPS CEO Barbara Byrd-Bennett said in a statement. "This historic stretch of dangerously cold weather has forced the District to remain closed until we are confident that students can return to school safety.

The National Weather Service is predicting a windchill of -30 degrees for Tuesday.

All Chicago Park District facilities will be open Tuesday, for families seeking youth programs and services.

Tuesday's cancellation is the fourth time this month that CPS has been closed.
