Feigenholtz Named 'Partner in Change' by Homeless Prevention Advocates
Rep. Feigenholtz and Sen. Steans were recognized by the Chicago Coalition to End Homelessness. Feigenholtz's presides over both Lake View and Lincoln Park.
State Rep. Sara Feigenholtz (D-Chicago) and state Sen. Heather Steans (D-Chicago) were named “Partners in Change” by the Chicago Coalition to End Homelessness on Friday.
Covering the 12th district, Feigenholtz’s presides over both Lake View and Lincoln Park.
“There are so many different faces of homelessness, and far too many children, families, and veterans are struggling to put roofs over their heads," said Feigenholtz.

"It is important that we remember to do the right thing and take care of the people in our community who need it the most," she continued. "I am honored to work with the coalition to expand access to safe and affordable housing and finally put an end to homelessness in Chicago.”
Chicago’s homeless population is estimated at more than 105,000 and growing. The Chicago Coalition to End Homelessness has worked with city, state, and federal leaders since 2006 to implement the city of Chicago’s Plan to End Homelessness, an ambitious 10-year plan to improve access to housing and develop effective wraparound supportive services to eliminate homelessness in Chicago.

As Chair of the House Human Services Budget Committee, Feigenholtz has help to fund homelessness prevention programs and supportive services for those at risk of becoming homeless.
“Rep. Feigenholtz is a tireless advocate for people experiencing homelessness in her district and throughout the state of Illinois," said Nicole Amling, the Chicago Alliance to End Homelessness’ Director of Policy and Planning.
"Even in these tough economic times, she has fought for – and won – impressive increases to the housing and services that vulnerable people depend on," Amling continued. "That is why we are delighted to honor her with the Chicago Alliance’s Partner in Change Award today,”
