‘Intoxicated’ Woman Hit by Cab in Lake View

A drunken woman was hit by a taxi near Boystown Saturday, police said, leaving her in critical condition.

An “intoxicated” woman was hit by a taxi in Lake View Saturday near the corner of Clark and School streets, leaving her in critical condition, police report.

The 26-year-old woman was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center after being struck around 12:45 a.m., Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Amina Greer told the Chicago Tribune.

Representatives with the hospital could not comment on the woman’s condition as of Monday afternoon.

Police said the woman was drunk when she walked into the roadway on a diagonal just one block west of Boystown. She was hit by a cab driving southbound on Clark, police said.

The taxi driver was questioned by police at the scene following the accident but was not cited for any violations, police said. According to CBS Chicago, the investigation is ongoing.
