Description Released in Belmont Ave. Sexual Assault

A woman was sexually assaulted inside her own apartment on Belmont Ave. early Sunday morning.

Chicago Police have released a description of the offender who sexually assaulted a woman in her own apartment early Sunday morning. The incident occurred on the 400 block of West Belmont. 

According to police, the suspect is described as a male African American of medium complexion. He's in his early 30's, 6-feet tall and between 180-190 lbs. He has a well-defined scar running down his left cheek, and was last seen wearing black-colored jeans and a dark-colored long sleeve t-shirt. 

The police press release states that the suspect approached the woman from behind as she was entering her apartment, forced himself into her residence, sexually assaulted her and then fled in an unknown direction.
