Sick Kids Get High-Flying Visit From Superhero Window Washers

Batman, Captain America and Spiderman cleaned the windows at Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago this week for an eager audience.

CHICAGO — Capes flapping in the wind, three superheroes descended the façade of the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago this week with a dual mission: thrill the sick children inside and clean the windows.

The semi-annual tradition began last year when the crew foreman saw a report about a similar event elsewhere and suggested the idea to his bosses at Corporate Cleaning, who told him to go for it, according to an article in the Chicago Tribune.

Now three window washers, who need to be technically skilled to tackle the tricky building and game enough to don costumes to do so, appear to brighten the long, rough days of the sick kids inside.
