Chef Chases Down iPhone Thief for Customer

A Lincoln Park restaurant owner used his martial arts training to retrieve a customer's iPhone and keep the suspected thief at bay until police arrived.

Talk about good service.

A Lincoln Park restaurant owner and chef chased down a man police say stole a cell phone from a diner and used his martial arts training to keep him put until police arrived.

Jason Chan, a former bouncer and now co-owner of Juno at 2638 N Lincoln, spotted a man he thought looked suspicious. After a customer said his phone was missing, Chan chased the man outside and to another nearby restaurant. When the man got physical, Chan used his martial arts training to subdue him until police arrived, WGN reports in the video above.

Chan was in the news earlier this year when friends rallied to help him while he battled throat cancer that resulted in the loss of his taste buds and salivary glands.
