Learn about Chicago's earlier "tied house" brewery-funded or brewery-owned bars and see their lasting effects. Participants pay for their own drinks at each stop. Food will be available at our last pub. Come and enjoy Lakeview and raise a glass or two with the Chicago Architecture Foundation. Experience the vitality of Lakeview, originally a separate suburban settlement north of Chicago. Lake View Township, organized in 1857, was widely populated by German immigrants and we will see how the German influence is still felt in this community. We will observe other local influences in architecture, retail shops and businesses situated along Belmont Avenue and the surrounding residential neighborhood.
