Wonder Woman Lynda Carter Joining Wilson Phillips at Market Days 2013

Lynda Carter, best known for playing the iconic 1970s Wonder Woman, will be the second headliner at Boystown’s Market Days this August.

The Northalsted Business Alliance announced Carter’s addition to the lineup Friday afternoon. She’ll be joining Wilson Phillips at the annual LGBT street festival in Lake View on Aug. 11-12.

"Another prominent singer announced for Market Days….Lynda Carter (yes of Wonder Woman fame) will perform on Sunday, August 11 at Market Days," wrote alliance spokesperson Jen Gordon in an email.

Carter, who was Miss World USA in 1972, made her mark in the entertainment industry by playing Wonder Woman, but she’s also a singer. In the 1970s, the actress recorded her album Portrait.  

Adding to her credits, Carter is a loyal supporter of the LGBT community. She was grand marshall for both the Phoenix and New York pride parades in 2011.

Last year’s Market Days headliners included Olivia Newton-John, The Pointer Sisters and Karmin.

Market Days is one of the Northalsted Business Alliance’s main events throughout the year, with the other being Pride Fest.
