Wilson Phillips to Headline Market Days 2013

The 1990s smash hit Wilson Phillips will headline the popular Boystown celebration, and officials say it's just a taste of what's to come.

Wilson Phillips, singers behind the 1990s No. 1 hit “Hold On,” are headlining the 2013 Market Days street festival in Boystown, officials confirmed Thursday.

The weekend celebration is slated for Saturday, Aug. 10 – Sunday, Aug. 11 on North Halsted Street from Belmont Avenue to Addison Street. More than 100,000 people swarm to Lake View every year for the event.

Jennifer Gordon, a spokesperson with the Northalsted Business Alliance, says Wilson Phillips will perform Aug. 10. The full line up, including which artist will headline on Aug. 11, should be available in the next month, Gordon said.

Jeff Durbin, the owner of The Gourmet Grape and head of the entertainment committee for Market Days, says Wilson Phillips is just the beginning.

"This is just a taste of what's to come for Market Days 2013," Durbin told ChicagoPride.com. "We are still booking talent for Market Days and will have a complete entertainment line up in the near future. It will be a fantastic year."
