Service Temporarily Cut for 1 Clark Bus Stop

Riders waiting at a popular Bus No. 22 stop will have to keep on waiting, according to local officials, who say the stop will not be serviced again until November.

If you're waiting to be picked up at the northbound bus stop at North Clark Street and West Diversey Parkway, you'll have to wait until November.

Bus service to that stop on the No. 22 line is being temporarily eliminated, according to a recent alert sent by the Chicago Transit Authority.

"The bus stop is being temporarily discontinued due to construction on an adjacent building," it says, construction being the new two-story Walgreens.

Although the CTA doesn't have an end date for the work, 43rd Ward Ald. Michele Smith pegs it at Nov. 15. She noted in a recent newsletter that the service interruption—it started May 13—is for riders' safety.

Other nearby northbound boarding options for bus No. 22 include the Clark and Schubert stop, which is slightly south, or the Surf and Clark stop, which is farther north.
