"Piñata Bar" Opens in Lake View

Twosided, located at 2958 N. Clark St., wants to help you break away from the cliched heart-shaped chocolates and roses this Valentine's day — and instead surprise your sweetheart with a personalized piñata. 

The store recently unveiled an Indie Piñata Bar inside the Lake View store, where shoppers can stuff a piñata — ranging from unicorn-shaped to heart-shaped — with everything from classic candies like Sweethearts and Red Hots to little stuffed toys. Prices for the piñata shell ranges from $18 to $28, while the stuffings are priced between $0.10 for candy to $3 — $4 for toys. 

There are even handmade piñatas available, made by local artist Adrienne Janci.  

"People are really excited about it," said Teresa Therrien, the business' Art and Media Director. "We didn't know if people would like it, but we've already had to have Adrienne make more piñatas!" 

The piñata bar will be open in Twosided until Feb. 15.
