Street Festival Hitting Wrigleyville, Benefitting Food Pantry

Wrigleyville Summerfest is back, bringing another street festival to Lake View to benefit a good cause.

The 10th annual Wrigleyville Summerfest is drawing near, adding to the slew of street festivals in Lake View that make summer in Chicago unbeatable.

Slated for Aug. 3-4, the yearly event draws more than 20,000 residents to the corner of Roscoe Street and Seminary Avenue every year. And while the list of vendors and performing acts is still under wraps, music will be all about hits form the 80s and 90s, organizers say.

“Not your average festival, Wrigleyville Summerfest features a Kids Zone with interactive games and family-friendly activities during the day in addition to the live music, beer, and savory flavors that Chicagoans know and love,” organizers with Star Events write.

Coupled with street fest fare will be one other thing: charity. Admission to Wrigleyville Summerfest is a suggested donation of $5, and proceeds will go to the Lakeview Pantry, one of Chicago’s largest food pantries.

The Night Ministry, a Lake View organization that helps vulnerable youth, will also get a cut of the income.
