Speed Camera Installed on Irving Park Rd.

The camera will issue warnings for the next 30 days and will issue citations after that.

A Speed Camera has been installed at 1142 W. Irving Park Rd. near Challenger Park, according to a post on Alderman Tom Tunney's website. For the next 30 days, beginning on Dec. 10, the camera will only generate warning notices for those caught speeding. After the 30 day warning phase, speeders will receive citations.

The location is part of Chicago's Children's Safety Zone Program. The program aims to protect children by reminding drivers to slow down and obey speed laws, especially near parks and schools.
