Sculpted People Spot Opens on Southport (PHOTOS)

Lake View's new People Spot is much larger than last year's on Lincoln Avenue, and designers decided to nix the café vibe for a sculpted lounge.

Lake View’s first People Spot on Lincoln Avenue may rock the sidewalk café vibe, but for the community’s second space on Southport, it’s all about the new sculpted lounge.

The new location officially opened in front of Uncle Dan's at 3551 N. Southport Ave. on Sunday. Formerly a loading dock, it's now a place for people to relax, enjoy a cup of coffee or read a newspaper.

Weather permitting, the People Spot will be removed Dec. 1. Coming in at 20 feet longer than the one on Lincoln, Lake View’s new People Spot creates 600-square-feet of new pedestrian space.
