Lake View Aims to 'Eliminate Hunger' with Annual Fundraiser

The Lakeview Pantry raised $26,000 at last year's big event, and is aiming to collect even more help to eliminate hunger this year.

The Lakeview Pantry Young Leaders Board is holding its annual Eliminate Hunger Social at STATE Restaurant and Café on Nov. 9 to raise funds to support Lakeview Pantry’s emergency food distribution and case management programs.

The event at 935 West Webster Street will be held from 7 - 10 p.m.

Individual tickets may be purchased online in advance for $45 each or for $50 each at the door (if still available). The Eliminate Hunger Social provides an opportunity for Lakeview Pantry supporters and young Chicago professionals to have fun and network while enjoying a hosted bar with cocktails and draft beer and hors d’ oeuvres by STATE for a good cause.

There will be music and ongoing raffle drawings with $7,000 worth of prizes. The Emcee will be Anthony Ponce of NBC 5 News.

Similar to last year’s event, the goals of this year’s Eliminate Hunger event are to raise funds to directly support the programs and services of Lakeview Pantry, increase awareness about hunger and poverty in Chicago, and invite new volunteers to join Lakeview Pantry. Last year’s inaugural Young Leaders Board event raised $26,000 and helped Lakeview Pantry distribute 1.5 million pounds of food and support 12,000 people in need.

This year’s event is set to raise even more funds to support the growth of the Pantry in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood.

Also, sponsorship opportunities are still available. They start at $500 and include a reserved table, bottle service, and extended exposure for your organization through online and print media and communications.
