Lake View, 44th Ward Go Digital with New Apps

The GoLakeview mobile application is up and running, with Ald. Tom Tunney planning to launch an app of his own. Both connect neighbors to businesses and government in the community.

The Lakeview and Lakeview East chambers of commerce collaborated to create the GoLakeview mobile app for Apple and Android smartphone users. Things like community events, parking information and daily specials are all integrated in the app, as well as location-based searches of local businesses.

And according to Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Maureen Martino, the app already has more than 1,000 downloads, a big feat for a new platform.

“We are thrilled to create this partnership with the Lakeview and Lakeview East chambers of commerce to launch this new mobile app,” Martino said in a statement. “We wanted to create a tool that would encourage residents and visitors to go out to explore and enjoy Lakeview, one of Chicago’s great neighborhoods.”

The app also features Explorer Packs, outlining different activities in Lake View for craft beer lovers, residents seeking dog-friendly activities and more.

GoLakeview will soon be joined by Ald. Tom Tunney’s 44th Ward mobile app that will push out information about the ward, community alerts and city programs. Residents will also have the opportunity to do things like report potholes and request city services via the app.

“Our office is launching a 44th Ward mobile app, and that should be launching sometime this week,” said Tunney’s Director of Communications Erin Duffy. “It’s bringing more information about our office and about the ward as a whole.”
