Feigenholtz, Cullerton Hosting Pre-Launch Ventra Event

The two local politicians are hosting a day where residents can play with the new system before it's officially implemented.

State Rep. Sara Feigenholtz and Senate President John Cullerton are teaming up with the Chicago Transit Authority to host an educational event on the new fare-payment system for city buses and trains, Ventra.

It'll all happen on aug. 28 outside the 19th District Police Station in Lake View.

“Taking public transportation is part of the daily routine for most of the residents in my district,” said Feigenholtz. “We want to make sure that residents are equipped with all of the necessary information to make their transition to the new Ventra system as seamless as possible.”

A Ventra bus will park outside the police station at 850 West Addison St. from 4–6 p.m. to let residents interact with the new system before its official launch in September. CTA representatives will also be on hand to answer questions.

"We're pleased to partner with the CTA to ensure that as they move forward with new technology that commuters aren't left behind,” said Cullerton. “Whether you take public transit frequently or sparingly, this is a great opportunity to learn more about this new payment system."
