Cajun Fest Could Be Coming to Lake View
The festival would feature an oyster boil, live music and Cajun food.
Lake View could be getting a two-day Cajun Fest this summer, according to an article by DNAinfo. The festival would feature Cajun food, oyster boils, bluegrass and jazz music, and tickets to the event would sell for around $35 to $40. Proceeds would go to charity and the Central Lakeview Neighbors.
The idea was proposed last week to the Central Lakeview Neighbors by Special Events Management founder Hank Zemola, DNAinfo states. Although no official date is set for the event, it will be held in the Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital parking lot at the corner of Sheffield and Wellington.
Lake View is on a Cajun kick recently, with a Cajun restaurant — Crawdaddy's Hot Tails and Hurricanes — set to open in March. The restaurant, which is owned by Minibar and D.S. Tequila owners John Dalton and Stu Zirin, will feature fried chicken, Cajun food, hurricanes and daiquiris.
