Blue Man Group Unveils New Outdoor Art Gallery (PHOTOS)
Six massive panels now dress up the side of the Briar Street Theater in Lake View featuring work from winning artists.
Chicago's Blue Man Group is taking art from the stage to the walls of their Lake View theater, unveiling the work of six artists on the facade of the Briar Street Theater.
It's a part of the 2013 Blue Man Group Art Competition, a move to create an outdoor gallery on the south wall of the theater at 3133 N. Halsted St. Six 10-by 10-foot panels now hang from the exterior of the building.
"The celebration of creativity and connectedness has always been a priority for Blue Man Group as well as making art and artists accessible to all," said Resident General Manager Mary Grisolano. "This gallery is a way to continue that mission while offering a big 'Thank You' to Chicago and the neighborhood that has been our home for over 15 years."
The winning artists include:
