“I’m very excited to be part of JUF’s first team,” said Lakeview resident Marna Goldwin, a JUF donor who will run with the team this year. “I’m proud to showcase JUF’s work to the broader Chicago community.”

It will be a double-whammy of firsts for Goldwin, who is a first-time marathon runner. “I turned 40 this year, and was thinking how lucky and blessed I feel to be at a point in my life where I can run,” she said. “I have the support of great family, friends, and community behind me. Now is the time to tackle the challenge.”

As of Oct. 8, the team had raised $49,253 toward their $50,000 goal. Proceeds will support JUF’s life-changing work caring for people in need and sustaining the Jewish community.

TeamJUF supporters will cheer runners on at the marathon’s Charity Block Party, and individual donation pages are available online. For more information, visit: http://www.juf.org/Marathon/

The JUF/Federation funds a vital network of agencies that act upon core Jewish values, including caring for people in need and sustaining the Jewish community.
