Rosemary maybe people are sick of the left-wing propaganda that has brought this state toRead Moreinsolvency and put Illinois on the bottom of every financial category in the union. Is this not 'news' or would you prefer them to make something up?

Reboot has a blog. You don't like it don't read it. Go back and turn on CBS to get instantRead Morelessons on doctored documents or New York Times for fictional news stories. Or turn on MSNBC so you can listen to wackos on the left the far far left. Better yet, listen to Carney's Mythologies - a daily dose of falsehoods from the Head Liar in Chief.

The real problem is Rahmbo and the strong mayor form of city government. For the past twenty or so Read Moreyears we've had two wannabee dictators running the show with a patsy council rubber stamping their nonsense. If Rahmbo says crime is down, don't expect cinnamon boy to dispute it. I don't disagree that Tunney needs to go, but it is going to take a whole lot more to get things better in Chicago than that.

Thank you Garry. Snow coming tomorrow and beyond. Here is the summary of the Municipal code ofRead MoreC hicago's snow & ice ordinance (source: Alderman's e-mail): Who is responsible for clearing the snow and ice from sidewalks? According to the Municipal Code of Chicago, "Every owner, lessee, tenant, occupant or other person having charge of any building or lot of ground abutting upon any public way or public space shall remove the snow and ice from the sidewalk..." It is everyone's responsibility to make sure the sidewalks are clear of snow and ice. We are all pedestrians and benefit from having a safe, clear, and continuous path to travel. How long do I have to clear the sidewalks? If the snow stops falling before 4 p.m. you have three hours to clear except on Sunday. If the snow stops falling after 4 p.m. or on Sunday, you have to clear before 10 a.m. on the next day. How much snow do I need to clear to comply with the ordinance? The Municipal Code of Chicago requires individuals to clear a 5 foot wide path along the sidewalk, where conditions allow. This width allows pedestrians in wheelchairs, people with children in strollers, students walking to school, and individuals with assistive devices mobility and access. What is the best way to remove snow from the sidewalk? - Remove snow and ice along ALL sidewalks adjacent to your property - Move snow to your yard or the parkway adjecent to your property - Do not push snow from the sidewalk into the street - Do not cover the crosswalks with snow - Do not block alley entrances with snow - Do not pile snow around fire hydrants What happens if I don't clear my sidewalk? Individuals who do not comply with the sidewalk snow removal ordinance can face fines of $50. Businesses who do not comply with the sidewalk snow removal ordinance can face fines from $250 to $500 per day of violation. Source: Alderman’s e-mail newsletter, winter, 2013-14

From the CrimeinBoystown Blog: "At the Zoning Board of Appeals hearing, one of the boardRead Moremember s was extremely insulting to the opposition witnesses but made no negative comments to Howard Brown witnesses. His name is Sam Toia. He owns Leona's Restaurant and is President of the Restaurant Association. I believe he lives in Lakeview. In another indication that the fix was in, Steve Valenziano of the Zoning and Land Use Planning, Ordinance Administration was suddenly sworn in to testify that the BYC was not primarily a medical clinic. When he was questioned as to how he knew this, he answered that he asked the applicant, HBHC/BYC."

I find it "curious" that in 5g it states, "In the event illegal activity, includingRead Morem isdemeanor activity, is investigated, the results of any such investigation shall also be shared with the CPD." IT USED TO SAY WITH "THE COMMANDER OF THE 19TH DISTRICT OF THE CPD". That would be Commander Voulgaris who at a CAPS meeting in October said he'd go to the ZBA and oppose the BYC. He apparently got his hand slapped as he quickly changed his tune. HUH? Wonder why they amended it to just the CPD in general. One might think they have a 'friendlier' policeman somewhere else who can overlook or rubberstamp stuff. Who is protecting the innocent, hard-working tax-payers in this city? Not Alderman Tunney not Mayor Rahm Emanuel!! Please remember this come election time.

Roscoe Resident, you really must dig deeper into this opinion. Trusting Tunney, Rahm or the CPDRead Morewill lead you to become your own crime statistic. Please look at the CPD crime stats and the Crime in Wrigleyville and Boystown blog. CWB links crime events to the CPD's own website. They're legit. They pulled a FOIA request on two 'jumpings' of off-duty cops that occurred last summer (they listen to police scanners live). The CPD denied flat out that these occurred. Once the FOIA requests were brought to light they had to admit that indeed they had. Do the math and ask who is telling the truth. The cops have questioned and arrested criminals who give their last known address as the BYC or COH. Some have even been known to be Gangster Disciples, etc. This is no joke! Ask a cop when no one is monitoring him. He'll tell you off the record. Tunney is just Rahm's spineless puppet who will tell the residents anything. Statistics don't lie. www.crimeinboystown.blogspot.com
