Concerts and a love interest have beckoned Lady Gaga to the North Side. Specifically, she's been spotted in Avondale, Lincoln Park and Wicker Park, among other communities. Read on to find out where residents have seen her.
Lady Gaga is no stranger to the North Side—especially these days. Sadly, the superstar canceled her "Born This Way Ball" tour just hours before her slated appearance at the United Center Wednesday, according to Live Nation. She'll need some down time for surgery on her hip, but Gaga has one thing bringing her back to Chicago. Her new squeeze, Chicago Fire's Taylor Kenny, has been filming in the city since last year. Much of that filming has been right here in Bucktown. READ: Chicago Fire Cast Returns to Lottie's or PHOTOS: Chicago Fire Stars Spotted During Bucktown Filming Chicago Magazine compiled a list earlier this month of 10 places to spot the fame diva, several of which are in our neck of the woods. Tickets for this summer's Pearl Jam concert at Wrigley Field sold out faster than those for any other headliners in the venue's history, including Bruce Springsteen and Elton John, sources say.
If you weren't able to snag tickets to Pearl Jam's recently announced show at Wrigley Field over the weekend, you may be out of luck. That is, unless you want to fork over a pretty penny. The band's July 19 show sold out in record time on Saturday, according to a Sun-Times Media report. Tickets disappeared faster than those for headliners including Paul McCartney, Elton John and Bruce Springsteen. They are still available via resellers; though, buyers will likely pay a significant markup for them. Tickets originally ranged between $52 and $77 but those on StubHub Monday morning were priced between $250 and $2,666, the Huffington Post reports. After a full day of teasing tweets at the end of January, Pearl Jam announced its plans to play at…

A Lane Tech alumnus is officially headed to Hollywood following her recent audition for American Idol.
A 2009 Lane Tech College Prep High School graduate who recently sang for President Barack Obama is now headed west, thanks to a unanimous ruling by all four American Idol judges. The Idol audition—it took place in Chicago— for Kiara Lanier, 21, aired on national television last week. Lively and gregarious, the young singer chatted with show host Ryan Seacrest about how excited she was to perform for U.S. President Barack Obama during his birthday celebration this past August. "It was awesome," she told him, adding that she wasn't as nervous as she thought she'd be because of how comfortable she was with the classic song selections. "... I got to shake his hand; we sang happy birthday to him." Judges Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban …

Company reps confirmed Wednesday rumors that began circulating last year about a state-of-the-art movie theater that will soon be under construction in nearby Lincoln Park. We got the nitty-gritty details about your new ArcLight Cinema.
A "hassle-free" cinema popular in California is making its way to Lincoln Park, where moviegoers will buy and reserve specific seats online and "enjoy films the way the filmmakers intended," representatives said. The local theater will be ArcLight Cinema's seventh in the country—several are in Los Angeles, CA; one opened in November in San Diego, CA; and another was just announced for outside Washington, D.C. Lincoln Park's ArcLight will be part of its upcoming New City development, which will include 600,000 square-feet of shopping, dining, residential and entertainment space at the intersection of Clybourn and North avenues, said Gretchen McCourt, executive vice president of cinema programming for ArcLight. "We're certainly looking at …

A step-by-step guide on how to make your own elegant additions to the Christmas tree, and avoid expensive manufactured ornaments.
This past holiday season, I set out to look for new decorations for my Christmas tree. My living room was newly decorated with items from Thailand, accented with warm blues, greens, and browns. I hoped to find ornaments that would compliment the color additions to my home. Unfortunately, most of the holiday decorations were bright green, red, and white, and none of them matched my decor. I selected a few that I loved the most and checked the price tags - $35 each! Disappointed but not defeated, I sought out a less expensive way to decorate my tree and still keep a sophisticated look. Using a little bit…
