PHOTOS: Walmart Opens Today on North Broadway
After heated debates and months on construction, the new Walmart Neighborhood Market is officially open in Lake View. See photos of the finished grocery store here.
Along with a store in Little Village and Back of the Yards, Walmart opened its new Neighborhood Market in Lake View today, making it one of 4 in Chicago and 230 in the United States.
Walmart employees opened its doors Tuesday evening to the media and neighborhood officials to get a pre-grand opening sneak peek. However, the store is open to customers this morning starting at 6 a.m.
Located at 2844 N. Broadway near Diversey Parkway, the store will be open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., with slightly altered hours for the store’s pharmacy. And at more than 30,000-square-feet, the massive grocery store is more than double the size of neighboring Trader Joe’s just two blocks away.
