Halloween in Lake View: Here's the Breakdown

Looking to stay local this Halloween? Here's a full breakdown of what's happening this weekend in Lake View, including what's going on at nearly every Boystown bar.

Agassiz School & CLVN Annual Halloween Extravaganza 

  • Saturday, Oct. 27
  • 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. 
  • Agassiz Elementary - 2851 N. Seminary

Kids, put on your costume and join Agassiz and the Central Lakeview Neighbors for some Halloween fun! There will be a Little Miss Ann concert, Costume Parade and Family Fall Picture Display. A $5 Child Wrist Band includes: Face Painting, tattoos, mini pumpkin decorating, cookie decorating and games.CLVN will be selling hot chocolate, caramel corn, popcorn balls, taffy apples, juice, water and cider for .50 or 2 for $1. Hayrides are $3.  

Halloween Hoopla for Kids  

  • Sunday, Oct. 28 
  • 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. 
  • Nettlehorst Elementary - 3252 N. Broadway

Nettlehorst and Broadway go spooky for the annual Halloween Hoopla, sponsored by the Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce. Festivities include:  face painting, hayrides, arts & crafts, cooking decorating, trick-or-treat style candy stations & much more! Also, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., children can trick or treat at local businesses on Broadway!

Sheil Park Halloween Party

  • Sunday, Oct. 28
  • Noon - 1 p.m.
  • 3505 N. Southport

Come join neighbors for treats, entertainment and prizes during the Halloween Party sponsored by the John Merlo Sports Program and Alderman Tunney.  Children 12 and under are invited to come play in the haunted halls of Sheil Park.

Southport Halloween Stroll

  • Sunday, Oct. 28
  • 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
  • 3800 N. Southport

The Lakeview Chamber of Commerce presents a family friendly Halloween celebration for all! Come enjoy family games, pumpkin decorating, moon jumps  & prizes! Smarty Pants will be on hand creating amazing balloon creations and spooky face painting designs. This is a great event for the whole family to dress up and stroll along scenic Southport Avenue. 

  • Patch will also be here handing candy, snapping photos and working a fun photo booth! Come over and say hello to the team!

Space Park Spooktacular

  • Sunday, Oct. 28 
  • 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. 
  • 815 W. Roscoe - Space Park

The Northlasted Business Alliance and the Triangle Neighbors Association host the Space Park Spooktacular, a kid friendly event featuring arts and crafts, games, performances & treats! Come in your Halloween best. There will be a Best Kid's Costume Contest by age: 0-3 years, 3-6 years, 6-9 years and 9-12 years.  

Northalsted Halloween Parade

  • Wednesday, Oct. 31
  • 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
  • North Halsted Street, Boystown 

As one of the most anticipated Halloween events in Chicago, the 16th Annual Northalsted Halloween Parade in Boystown is ready to turn the energy on high with an altered parade route in 2012.

Along with starting the march down North Halsted at a later time, the festivities on Oct. 31 will begin at Circuit Night Club – 3641 N. Halsted St. near West Waveland Avenue – and move south toward Belmont Avenue. This is the first time in 16 years that the highly attended parade has been changed and extended, but organizers are excited about the modification. 

Boystown Parties
