Full Music Lineup Announced for Belmont-Sheffield Music Fest

Chicago's first outdoor festival of the year is getting ready to spice up Memorial Day Weekend in Lake View.

Chicago’s first outdoor street festival in the heart of Lake View is just weeks away, and organizers have finally released the official schedule and lineup for the big day. 

The 29th annual Belmont-Sheffield Music Festival, organized by Special Events Management, will be held May 25-26 from noon to 10 p.m. Sporting food, drinks and more, the event just steps from the Belmont CTA El stop will again feature some of the area’s top tribute bands.

Headliners at the weekend event include Dot Dot DotThe Trippin Billies and Wedding Banned, with others rocking out on the stage in between. The schedule is as follows:

Saturday, May 25

  • 12:30 p.m.—School of Rock (kids' rock)
  • 2:00 p.m.—The Partyhardigans (eclectic party rock)
  • 4:00  p.m.—7th Heaven (pop/rock)
  • 6:00 p.m.—Liquid Soul (jazz/funk)
  • 8:00 p.m.—Trippin Billies (Dave Matthews tribute)

Sunday, May 26

  • Noon—2nd Generation Pilots (hip hop)
  • 1:30 p.m.—Hot Sauce Committee  ('90s hip hop & dance/rock)
  • 3:30 p.m.—Journey Recaptured (Journey tribute)
  • 6:00 p.m.—Dot Dot Dot (pop/rock)
  • 8:30 p.m.—Wedding Banned (pop/rock)

The Trippin Billies is one of the nation’s most successful Dave Matthews tribute bands, playing around America for close to 20 years. In addition, Wedding Banned will play some of the top hits from the 80s and 90s.

Lastly, Chicago-based Dot Dot Dot will play, described as a union of rock elements with in dance beats and synthy frills.

About 30,000 people head to Lake View for the city’s first outdoor music festival, and last year’s event featured 10 performers. The remaining entertainment has yet to be announced.

The annual event will join other upcoming street festivals on the North Side like, Sausagefest, Roscoe Village Burger Fest, Oktoberfest and the newly announced Lincoln Avenue LIVE.

The Belmont-Sheffield Music Festival is sponsored by and benefits the Central Lakeview Merchants Association. A $5 donation is requested at the festival’s gates.
