Boystown Brawl, Biting Sends 3 to Hospital
An Aurora woman sent three people, including a police officer, to the hospital after a fight erupted at Hydrate in Boystown, according to reports.
A Saturday night Boystown brew-ha-ha landed a trio in the hospital after an Aurora woman reportedly injured two men with a glass beer bottle and then bit an officer, police said.
Rosalinda Heredia, 24, of the 400 block of North Union Avenue in Aurora, was charged with multiple counts of aggravated battery. She’s scheduled to make her next court appearance on Jan. 11.
According to the police report, a 19th District tactical team was dispatched to Hydrate Nightclub around 3:30 a.m. after police on patrol heard reports of a fight in progress. Once they arrived, police found an off-duty Kenosha, WI, police officer and an unknown civilian holding down Heredia outside the bar on the sidewalk, the report said.
A bartender at the club, which is located at 3458 N. Halsted St., reportedly told the cops she watched Heredia hit a 29-year-old man and a 30-year-old man in their heads using a glass beer bottle. Both were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital and were treated for serious injuries, police said.
When police tried to take the woman into custody, she punched one of the officers, the report says. After multiple attempts to calm Heredia, an officer performed an emergency take down, tackling her to the ground. However, she continued to punch and kick, they said.

An officer performed a “leg strike” to Heredia’s upper body in hopes of stunning her, but she continued to be violent, the report says. While she was being handcuffed, she reportedly bit an officer in the leg, breaking the skin.
Officers were able to cuff her eventually, but when she was brought to a standing position, she kicked a man in the knee, police said. That’s when officers carried her, facedown, into the squad car.
Heredia was taken to the 19th District Police Station for processing. The officer she bit was brought to Thorek Hospital on West Irving Park Road for treatment, while the two men she hit with the glass beer bottle were treated and released from Illinois Masonic Hospital.

Biting an officer is in poor taste. Go back to the suburbs, Ms. H.

Too much crime happens in a neighborhood where there shouldn't be any. People like this wacko need to pay for their crimes and inappropriate behavior. And on top of all this, at least the cops finally showed up. CPD isn't known to really care for this part of town.

These places REALLY need to close at 2am. All of them have proven they can't control anything beyond that.
@garry - I've noticed over the past year the blatant over serving of patrons in many of these establishments. This problem is now being mentioned in online reviews more recently. It's almost guaranteed your night is going to be ruined by some extremely obnoxious drunk out there. It's a given anymore. The last time I literally wanted to ask each and every bartender in one of those places which one had given him another drink but I decided to leave and unsure whether I'll ever be back at this point.

The attitude is out there that as long as you're not driving (most aren't).....pour 'em on. The bartenders will "feel you out" on this and that's the end of their responsibility as far as I can see. I know my limits and have declined shots, etc. Thanks, but no thanks. Times are hard, I'm sure it's difficult earning the $$ of yesteryear out there but they have to think longer term and be more responsible. They're losing loyal clientele for tonight's $.
Three times in the past 8 months I've literally had to prop the person leaning on me up against the wall so they wouldn't fall down when I fled. Once I saw somebody lying on a floor. Twice I've called a cab for people out on the street before they fell down, hit their head on a brick wall, got beat/robbed, or were found lying in the middle of the road. That's the shape they were in.
More and more frequently it's not a fun "entertainment" district out there. Throw the drugs on top of this and, well, that's what you get.
And, no, it's not much fun walking through that to get to your destination that's not even a bar. You shouldn't have to walk upwards of a 1/4 mile out of your way if you don't feel like tolerating it.

It wouldn't matter. I've seen them glassy eyed, stumbling and causing a ruckus at the door and allowed to enter anyway. All they see in those eyes is $$$$$$$.
